Resolved Question: Is it worth driving to Berkshires, MA or stay in Princeton, MA?

I will be visiting MA from October 11 thru October 17. I already have a day trip scheduled to go to the Berkshires to see the foliage, but found online Wachusett Mountains in Princeton, MA which is much closer. Is it worth the extra hour drive to get to the Berkshires or would staying in Princeton be the same thing? This is the rest of my trip: scenic drive from Boston to Rockport (stop at Marblehead for lunch); Hammond Castle; Whale watching; Dinner in Rockport; Salem for a day/night; Boston tour including Concord and Cambridge; and whole day/night in Nantucket.
